The DTHS Alumni Annual Dinner & Dance soon to be “Alumni Gala” entered its rebranding and refocusing phase when it took center stage at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel for its Annual charity event. It was to be a spectacular event as the Executive Board rallied stoutly to deliver its Annual Dinner & Dance held on August 17th, 2019. Critiques dubbed this year the hallmark of what is to come.
With a renewed vibe and purpose to serve the Alumni Association Jamaica was confident that in the end, the event would be successful. Dinthillians here and abroad came to make right their contributions while basking in the soulful sounds of “The Captain” Colin Hines and feature act Demario Mcdowell. In addition, Miss Kimiela “Candy” Issacs lifted high praises unto God for his mercies surely endureth forever.
It has been evident over the years that our school is in need of interventions and activities that will create an enabling environment of growth and sustainable development. We need strong commitment and action from all stakeholders to effect this transformation purposefully.
Hence, part of the proceeds of the 2019 Dinner & Dance Fundraising Event will go towards “Repair, Expansion, and Retrofitting of the Agriculture Science Laboratory” in the short term. However, our long term goal, we propose to construct a state of the art Biotechnology Laboratory and Research Centre for our Alma Mater.
Our theme “Cherishing the Past, Charting the Future”, is therefore consistent with our objectives of recognizing the original roots of an agricultural focussed Dinthill, while supporting its transformation into a premier 21st Century of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M) institution to prepare future nation builders for the ever-changing global marketplace.
