Twenty-four-year-old model Nastashia Mitchell walked away from a field of 27 contestants to cop the coveted Miss Global Jamaica title and over $1 million in cash and prizes at the grand coronation ceremony held at the RIU Hotel Montego Bay.

Shamone Martin, seventeen year old student prefect of the Dinthill Technical High School, picked up the Public Choice Award and was named first runner-up, while Shanique Goodwill, who copped the Best Smile sectional prize, placed third. Other sectional prize winners were Chenee Morgan — Best Figure, Robyn Lee — Best Talent, while the Most Congenial Award went to Deanna Palmer.

Shamone, who proudly wore the sash Ms. Express Fitness 24/7 showed extreme composer and confidence to claim her first runner-up prize.  She was poised with the most radiant smile to captivate the hearts of the judges as she graced the stage to claim her prize. She was also a member of the specially invited team who did an interview with CVM at Sunrise. The competition took her to various places in Jamaica, where she interfaced with a multiplicity of persons. In addition, the contestants also got the opportunity to meet the Minister of Tourism and the Governor General.

The Miss Global Jamaica pageant is an international tourism board competition which featured contestants from Jamaica and the diaspora. The competition boasted an international cadre of young women who were eagerly ready to strut their stuff. Pageant director Neelam Ramchandani was happy with the staging of the event and lamented the success of her hardworking production crew.
