The stage was set and the “Facta Non Verba” brand was put to the test. It was the Annual staging of the Dinthill Technical High School Alumni Association Jamaica Dinner & Dance fundraiser event. The executive Board sprung into action and worked vigorously for months in preparation of the coveted ‘2018’ edition. This proved to be the hallmark for a special season of activities. The School’s 80th Anniversary, a year of activities, designed by the Dinthill community. Predestined to be commemorative and symbolical, under the theme, “Renewal: Through Partnership, Integrity and Perseverance”. Many turned out in their numbers to celebrate what was evidently the true ‘Facta Non Verba’ vibes. Thus affirming its mantra “Deeds Not Words”.
To kick-start the weekend we initiated the grand celebration with a “Meet & Great” party on August 17th, 2018. It was the third time hosted by Mr & Mrs. Linval Freeman at their beautiful residence in Stony Hill. We thank the Freeman’s for their continued generosity and show of commitment to the work of the Alumni body. Overtime, exciting chatter filled the air as we consumed the delicious meals provided by the Board Walk Cafe. Groups mingled and limed in reflection of their experiences at our illustrious Alma Mater throughout the night. Then, the grand Dinner/Dance event was held on August 18th, 2018 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel “Talk of the Town” corporate ballroom suite.
In addition, the splendor of the evening was captivated with approximately 216 persons in attendance who relished the moments in celebration of our Alma Mater 80th Anniversary. Total collections are expected to be for 225 Tickets which include donations from corporate Jamaica and individuals. Music was provided by the energetic dynamism of Mr. Melvin Williams, female vocalist Ms. Joan Dixon and the JUS JAZZ Band.

In conclusion, the feedback on the event was very positive, not with-standing the few challenges, it generated huge interest and was much appreciated and received by most persons. Several highlights of the event were carried in the press, namely The Jamaica Observer and the Gleaner. Once, again we would like to thank the volunteers and the members of the Executive Board, for the planning and execution of such a prestigious event. You did a fantastic job!
